1980- OMMEN
After a good start, Laro Tape is well on its way to becoming the leading printed tape specialist in the Netherlands. The office in Linschoten is not designed for this. We are looking for suitable business premises in order to serve customers even better and faster. We find it in the town of Ommen, Overijssel. Here, the first members of staff are hired. The sole proprietorship makes way for Laro Tape B.V.
1993- OWN PRODUCTION
In 1993, Laro Tape expands its activities by starting to print tape itself. Small-scale, with only one tape printing machine and one design and preparation department. The initiative is successful. In order to increase production capacity, renovations and expansions of the office, warehouse and machinery soon followed. Laro Tape now has nine employees and four tape printing machines.
1996- VERMEERSTRAAT
Laro Tape is growing steadily and the current building is also becoming too small. Laro Tape relocates once more, this time within Ommen. To a completely new business premises on Vermeerstraat.
2002-ROBOTISATION
The production department is expanded further and in 2002 partly equipped with a unique robotic printing system.
2004- EXPORT
In 2004 we start expanding our sales area. Laro Tape Export is founded and is active in twelve European countries to this date, with market-leading results.
2010- SUBSIDIARY
In this year, the subsidiary Diamant Klebeband GmbH is founded in Germany with the aim of serving the German resale better and faster.
2011- NEW GENERATION
Carel Rolvink is now almost 65 years old and is far from finished with his life's work. Unfortunately our founder passed away in October 2011. This requires a change of management and the second generation comes into the picture. Son Koen Rolvink and daughter Sharon Rolvink build on the solid foundation laid by their father. Koen, as General Manager, and Sharon, as Online Marketing and PR Manager, are supported by Team Laro Tape, a strong, capable and loyal team. Team Laro Tape is once again generating a growth in turnover, and with it an extension of the number of tape printing machines to fifteen. These machines are partly operated by four robots.
2012- LARO TAPE ONLINE
Laro Tape makes a start in e-commerce with a renewed website and webshop. With this we respond to the growing market of webshops and other online services. This growth has resulted in an increasing demand for parcel services and thus for packaging materials such as printed tape.
2015 – 2017 LARO TAPE CONQUERS EUROPE
The E-commerce market is growing and with it the demand for printed tape. In addition to the activities in Germany, Laro Tape is expanding its sales area with active resellers in other parts of Europe such as France, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia.
2016-2017
In order to guarantee the further demand for printed tape, the production capacity is further expanded and 15 printing machines are in operation. In addition, the corporate identity is given a modern and new look.
2019- SUSTAINABILITY AND DIGITISATION
Laro Tape makes the business premises more sustainable and invests further in (online) activities. We set up MyLaro, a portal where customers can find everything about tape and digitising the order process. We are also introducing the first certified sustainable tape in the Netherlands. We are also expanding the production capacity once again, we have approximately 20 printing machines in our company.
